You are alive and that, in itself, is amazing. In the wake of the tragic events in Orlando, I am reminded just how precious each and every day is. Life gets hectic and busy and I constantly neglect to stop, appreciate the moment and connect with the people I love. I’m sure many of you can relate…
Tragedies like the one in Orlando are happening all too often and I have seen how they have influenced my mind and life. I have come to realize and accept that at any moment, our life or the life of someone we love can be taken from us. Life is unpredictable – and that’s okay! I try to think of how I can use that to my benefit and approach each day with an attitude of gratitude and a desire to make the most of it. Don’t put off things you want to do, tell the important people in your life that you love them, work hard, be kind and don’t get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.
Below is a quote I read often to remind me that life is precious and I need to make the most of it. I hope it hits home for you too.
“Today I am fortunate to have woken up, I am alive. I have a precious human life. I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all of my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can.” – Dalai Lamaa
Let’s not forget this after a day, a week or a month but instead try to remind ourselves and others of just how amazing and precious this life we have is.
Embrace the day!
